Evalin Karijo
Evalin Karijo is an award-winning, global health professional and published author. She has served in senior leadership roles, designing and implementing evidence-driven, large-scale strategies and programs for adolescents, youth, and women in the global south. She currently serves as Associate Director at Population Council’s GIRL Center, and ensures that innovation and evidence inform adolescent girl-centered policies and programs in low- and middle-income countries.
Evalin is passionate about transformational leadership for the next generation and published her memoir ‘The Courage to LEAD Young’ early in her career, to inspire young people, especially in Africa to take up leadership roles.
She is a thrill seeker who loves new challenges and has stood on the summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest point), and Mt. Kenya’s Lenana Peak.
Evalin is a DrPH candidate at Indiana University and holds certification from the Futurist Institute, a Master of International Public Health degree (University of Liverpool), and a Global Executive MBA in Health Leadership and Management (USIU Africa).
